Turning data into decisions

The Beginning

Three builders, one idea.

Three Ventures was founded in 2012 by brothers Alan and Curtis Morte and their lifelong friend Wally Hix - three builders who had been making things together since they were kids. What started as a small, founder-led consultancy was built on one idea that still defines the company: data is only valuable when it changes what a business actually does.

For more than a decade, that meant helping clients turn scattered, underused data into decisions and revenue - across analytics, marketing, cloud, and custom software. The work was practical and outcome-driven: connect the systems that weren't talking to each other, make the numbers trustworthy, and put them in front of the people who make the decisions. The company grew by solving real problems rather than selling a single product - and that builder's instinct still runs the place.

““Data is only valuable when it changes what a business actually does.””

The Bridge to AI

The same problem, one layer down.

That foundation is what made the next step obvious. As AI moved from experiment to expectation, the pattern became clear: the organizations struggling with AI weren't failing on the technology - they were failing on the data underneath it. A model can't learn from information trapped in spreadsheets, disconnected systems, and people's heads.

The same discipline Three Ventures had spent years on - governing data, integrating systems, making information reliable - is the prerequisite for AI to work at all. The data and analytics work led directly into AI data governance, because they are the same problem one layer down.

Where We Are Now

Today that work is focused where the gap between a company's systems and its reality is widest, and where the data foundation matters most before any AI initiative begins: AI readiness and AI data governance for small and mid-sized manufacturers.
